Our E30 intercooler was designed to work with the limited space behind the OE bumpers.
There is not enough room between the core support and the bumper to easily mount a decent sized intercooler without involving a good amount of fabrication.
We designed an intercooler that can support up to roughly 450 horsepower without the need to modify your core support or hack up your front bumper.
Cast end tanks are designed to wrap around the core support with the contour of the OE bumper allowing for smooth air flow.
The end tanks have a machined 2.5" inlet and outlet which routes close to the frame rails so you still have room for power steering pumps or oil coolers in front of the wheel wells.
Please note that a Rivnut / Nutsert tool is highly recommended to secure the bracket. You will need to drill out an existing hole located on the core support and one hole on the bottom.
You do not have to mount it that way, but the supplied brackets will line up with existing holes on the core support.
Securing the bracket with a nut and bolt is not easily accessible once your radiator is mounted.
