Wagons! The cars we don't get state side.
24th Mar 2025
There's something about station wagons.
If there wasn't, why would car makers such as Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Ferrari, and even Cadillac offer them?
I feel it's because you feel a certain way going faster then those "other" fast cars in a station wagon.
They're practical too. Plenty of room for the kids, pets and groceries, but yet each car maker offers a model that shares some of the wildest power plants in the wagons. Because, it's cool!
The E91 is based off of the E90 and E92 chassis.
The size of the car is great. Not so big like today's cars and not too small to make it plenty practical.
The model of the car we will be using for our next build is a 328i XDrive (AWD) model.
This specific car was owned by one owner and meticulously maintained. The whole car for its age is flawless, and without any bit of rust.
Driving the car around for few days in its stock form, you begin to realize why this chassis is so popular. The car has just the right amount of electronic nannies without interfering with the driving experience. No iPad sized dash, just high quality knobs and levers that gives this car just the right amount of luxury.
Now, the power plant in this car isn't anything to boast about, however the N52 is an engine that will go past 300k miles from what other owners have claimed as long as all maintenance is kept up. That's great and all, but that's now what we are after...
We want an engine that can rev up to 8000 RPM while making power all the way up to redline with nearly equal horsepower and torque. We also wanted an engine that is responsive to make it a fun street car, but can be docile enough to take on a weekend road trip.
We are talking about a good old American V8... the LS3.
Well, enough chatting and enjoy the pictures of our 2011 E91 LCI Wagon.

In Case you didn't know, LCI stands for Life Cycle Impulse.
Simply put, it's a mid cycle refresh. Easiest way to tell are the Head lights, and all red LED Tail lights
